Delete your Pod account

Pod is an app by Pettingell Software Company LLC. You can delete your Pod account and the data that goes with it at any time, in the app or by email. You do not need the app installed to ask.

Deletion is permanent. We cannot recover a deleted account or its data afterwards.

Two ways to delete

In the app: immediateOpen Pod and go to the You tab. Tap the settings button (the sliders icon, top right), then Delete account, and type DELETE to confirm. Your account is deleted straight away.

By email: within 30 daysWrite to privacy@pettingellsoftwarecompany.com from the email address on your Pod account and say you want it deleted. We may ask you to confirm before deleting, so that nobody else can delete your account. We delete it within 30 days of the confirmed request and reply when it is done.

What is deleted

Your account and everything in itYour profile, sign-in details, health and activity data, challenge entries and history, weekly insights, and the device tokens used to send you notifications.

Pods you createdA pod you created passes to its longest-standing other member, so the people still in it keep their own data. A pod with nobody else in it is deleted with your account. Challenges you started keep running for the others, without your name on them.

Records held by our service providersWe ask our subscription provider to delete your subscription purchase records too, and follow up by hand if that request fails. If the app reported crashes, our crash-reporting provider keeps those reports for up to 90 days and then deletes them automatically. Ask by email and we will delete them sooner.

What is kept

We keep what follows. Beyond it, we keep only what the law requires.

Your deletion requestIf you ask by email, we keep your email and our reply as a record that we did what you asked.

An internal account numberYour account's random ID can remain in records of notifications sent to a pod and in logs of our weekly jobs. Once your account is gone, it no longer points to anything about you.

Backups, for up to 7 daysOur database is backed up daily, and each backup is kept for 7 days. Your deleted data can remain in backups made before you deleted it, untouched, until they expire, at most 7 days after deletion. We don't restore deleted accounts from them.

Your purchase with Apple or GoogleIf you paid for a subscription, Apple or Google keeps its own record of the payment. Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription. Cancel it in your App Store or Google Play account.

Data on your phonePod only reads from Apple Health or Health Connect. It never writes to them, so deleting your account does not remove anything from them.

To delete only your health data and keep your account, email the address above. The privacy policy covers your other rights, such as access and correction.
